Interesting... do you remember that in Wisconsin the GOP won.

Then, they made sweeping changes to the budgets to bring them into balance.

Then all the liberals went nuts and stormed the capital.

Then, they changed the laws anyway on how unions can operate.

Then, the media and the elites labeled those lawmakers as HATERS, RACIST, Etc...

Then, they media (CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS) all said a recall election would turn it around and the people would toss out the GOP because the GOP was out of touch with people and they were the right wing fringe that only represented about 20 percent of the people.

Then, the labor unions spent millions to have the election and put Dems in control.

WELL GUESS WHAT... the people spoke and the GOP who stuck to their guns and made changes held control of the senate in the recall election!!!!

UNDER GOD – people – UNDER GOD!

A few days ago during NBC’s coverage of the US open NBC aired a tribute to soldiers. During that tribute they captured voices of children reciting the pledge of allegiance.

So far, no big deal.

During the editing process they cut the words “under God” out of the recording in effect removing them from the pledge.

Within minutes NBC began receiving hundreds upon hundreds of phone calls. This prompted an immediate, on the air apology and a press response in which NBC claimed it was a simple oversight.

Well – I do not believe it was an oversight – I believe it was 100% intentional. I also believe they did not expect the outrage that followed.

They made a huge mistake.

A few days later I was asked a simple question by a friend of mine. He asked “were you more offended as a Christian or as an American." He then said, “you can only pick one.”

For me, the offense was to my patriotism as an American. In my heart I know and believe there is a God. He has a name and I worship him. It is not my place to ram that down your throat.

Now – if you do not share the belief of a God, or if you think this issue is a merger of church and state, I am going to invite you to take a deep breath and read a little farther.

GOD is important.

Lets start with some simple facts:

First – the words “under God” are not specific to a specific God. Is it the Muslim God? Is it the Jewish God? Is it Jehovah? Is it Allah? Is it Buddha? Is it Jesus?

Second - the words “under God” are specific to the concept of a higher being, a creator. Simply put, the words give credence to the ideal that our FREEDOM and our LIBERTY are granted to us from an higher source of power than mere men.

Consider this, if there is no concept of God, a higher power, or a creator who has granted us certain rights, then our freedom and liberty are only temporary to the ruling class or the government at hand.

This country – LIKE IT OR NOT – was founded on the premise that our FREEDOM and LIBERTY were given as a grant of rights from a creator who was out of the reach of mankind. Thus, one man or a group of men, cannot take the LIBERTY and FREEDOM of another man against his will for the purpose of service to the ruling class or the government.

To remove God from the pledge is A MAJOR STEP in eroding the idea that freedom and liberty are rights granted to us by a creator or something out of the reach of mankind.

IT IS DANGEROUS GROUND to remove the “concept” of a creator who has endowed us with rights.

IT IS DANGEROUS GROUND for us to allow those thoughts to be chiseled away.

Why? Because if a man or a ruling class can remove God or the Creator from the driver’s seat of granting freedom and liberty, then that same man or group of men can take control and deny us those rights based on their personal desires and what they believe to best for the good of the whole.

YOUR FOUNDING FATHERS DID SOMETHING BRILLIANT BY IDENTIYING A CREATOR AND PLACING OWNERSHIP OF FREEDOM AND LIBERTY IN HIS HANDS.

Simply put, if we share the idea that we are granted freedom and liberty from a creator, then mankind is not granted the right to take them away.

CHANGE THAT THOUGHT, TAKE GOD OUT and THE RULING CLASS CAN TAKE CONTROL.

So, if you are struggling with the concept of God in the pledge, please realize that it has vast consequences to remove it.

For those of you who know history, I will be disappointed if I don’t hear from you about those words.

So – what did I do about about NBC. Simple – I bought a dishwasher this weekend and it was not ,made by General Electric. There will be no more purchases of GE products in my home again – ever.

And by the way, I am sure George Bush was the lead editor of the NBC tribute.

I am so confused. I have decided to write down an actual conversation I had with a very close friend of mine…

For my liberal friends that read this blog, my verbiage will follow the word “me” and my friend’s verbiage will follow the word “friend.”

Here goes it…

Me - “I think I might like Sarah Palin to be our next President”

Friend – “Really? Are you kidding? She is so S T U P I D.”

Me – “Have you read her book?”

Friend – “No.”

Me – “Have you seen her ‘made for television’ documentary about Alaska?”

Friend – “No.”

Me – “Have you read anything about her energy policy when she was governor of Alaska?”

Friend – “No.”

Me – “You do know she was the governor of Alaska, mayor of a city, and an elected council woman – right?”

Friend – “Yes, but those were hack jobs. And, she quit being governor in the middle of her term.”

Me – “Do you know why she quit?”

Friend – “Does it matter?”

Me – “No, guess not, what is a hack job?”

Friend – “You know, they don’t really mean anything, sort of like teaching.”

Me – “You do know she owned her own business – right?”

Friend – “Yeah, but it wasn’t that big.”

Me – “Have you read about anything about what she does or has done?”

Friend – “No – don’t need to, she is stupid.”

Me – “Wow.”

Friend – “Just wait, the New York Times has copies of all her emails and I know they are going to find stuff out in those emails that will prove she is stupid. Just wait Ron Morrison… just wait!”

Me – “Has the New York Times done this type of email scrunity to anyone else?”

Friend – “Not that I know of, but she deserves it.”

Me – “Why?”

Friend and Me in unison – “BECAUSE SHE IS STUPID.”

Me – “So let me see if I have this right, you have not read her book, you know nothing about her political accomplishments, you know nothing about her business life, you know nothing about her personal life, you are satisified that the New York Times has asked its readers to look through her emails to find out ‘junk” on her and through all of that you have reached the conclusion she is stupid.”

Friend – “Yes.”

Me – “Yep, well I guess you have proved it, she is stupid, hard to argue with logic based in lack of understanding and forming conclusions that cant be readily justified.”

Friend – “See, I told you she was stupid. You should listen to me more often.”

Me – “What do you think about Anthony Weiner?”

I received an email blast from Congressman Gene Green. The text is listed below and I think it is worth the read. Since I rip him when he is too far left, it is only fair that I tell you I agree with him on this topic and glad he has “stepped across the aisle.”

“Our top priority as a nation should be getting Americans back to work. This week I joined my colleagues across the aisle to support energy legislation that will help create jobs for Houstonians and Gulf Coast residents.

After the Macondo Oil Spill, the Department of Interior instituted a moratorium on shallow water and deep water drilling which lasted until May 28, 2010, and October 12, 2010, respectively. Though this moratorium has been lifted, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE) has been slow to approve applications for new leases. Our office has continued to hear from producers that permits are being denied without proper guidance on how to revise their applications to make them acceptable.

I support the safety measures the Department of Interior implemented following the spill, but the permitting delay is impacting job creation throughout the Gulf. Just one production rig creates 500 jobs -- 100 workers on the rig, plus 400 workers supporting drilling operations onshore. A recent study from Wood Mackenzie found that nearly one third of offshore drilling would become uneconomic without reform to the Department Interior’s leasing practices. According to some estimates, this could result in up to 125,000 jobs lost by 2015.
We produce 30% of the nation’s oil in the Gulf of Mexico and 10% of our natural gas. As we see gas prices continue to climb, our country cannot afford to shut off this critical energy source.

Following the Macondo spill, we must ensure that we pursue energy production safely and responsibly, but we still need this sector of our economy. . Domestic energy production is critical to our nation’s energy security and creates good paying American jobs. I will continue to support energy policies that protect jobs and the economy in the Houston area.”

“Let’s Pretend Bush is President”

A few of my friends are posting some very funny items on their Facebook pages. One of the funniest I saw was this..

“When is Obama going to kill Kaddafi so that Bush can get credit for that also?”

Really?

Let’s play a game of “Pretend Bush is President.”

If Bush had been the President when Osama was killed, the media would have reported it like this:

Headline – President Bush Orders Execution of Refugee.

Today, in a perhaps an illegal and unilateral maneuver with no other nation standing behind him, President Bush ordered the perhaps illegal execution of a Saudi Arabian refugee in his new found home and meek lifestyle in Pakistan. The illegal execution took place as the Untied State violated the sovereign air space and borders of Pakistan to illegally kill the unarmed refugee who was at home relaxing with his young bride and little children.

When asked for a comment President Bush stated “He be deserved it. It was all part of my stratergicert plan.”

We are not sure that a war crime has been committed but feel certain Bush is a war criminal as a taser gun could have been used as a reasonable alternative to subdue the otherwise unarmed refugee who was standing at the side of his young bride and young children. If indeed a taser had been unused, the unarmed, newly married, meek refugee could have been handed over to local authorities for a trial.

As I conclude this story I would be remiss if I did not bring into question the impact of Bush I on the Clinton administration. You may recall that Bush I ordered the attack on the Waco compound killing innocent women, men, children, and unborn babies and President Clinton stood by doing nothing. And lest not forget Bush I ordering the airstrikes in Croatia as Clinton was in his 3rd year of his first term. We also know that it was these two incidents that led to Bush II making the decision to crash planes into the WTC and pretend it was from non-radical, peace loving, protestors who really want to be loved.

Lastly, this is once again a demonstration of the “rogue” President’s cowboy mentality.

Now back to reality…

To be glad or not to be glad, that is the question…

With so many people jumping in to present God’s side on the brutal killing of Osama Bin Laden, I thought I would take a shot at it myself. (No pun intended.)

So the comments I see racing across my Facebook and Twitter accounts range from “hell ya, I am glad he is dead” to “God wishes no man to perish” and we should “pray for those who persecute us.”

Wow! What extreme viewpoints we have here.

So, my take…

Romans 13:1-3

“¹Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.

²Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.

³For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong!”

So, I will make this simple.

Our governing authority is NOT a king or a queen. It is not a President or any elected official.

Our governing authority in this land is the Constitution of the United States. In fact, every elected official takes an oath to uphold it, protect it, and defend it. They also take an oath to support the laws of the land that are formed by the permissions granted in the Constitution.

So as I see it Osama masterminds a plan to attack the US. Hmmm? That seems a little opposed to the freedoms endowed by our governing authority.

It is also apparent that the plan is clearly contrary to the laws of our land as provided by the legal processes outlined in the constitution. Hmmm – again.

The plan is executed. Hmmm? Is that opposed to the laws of our land the governing authority that God has put in place? Hmmm?

Clearly it is a crime according to the laws of our land. So, if my take is correct, then according to what I see in Romans 13:2 is that Osama brought judgment on himself. NOW THAT IS DIFFERENT. I didn’t even see that coming! WOW!

So, I am glad judgment has arrived for Mr. Bin Laden.

For those of you who sympathize for his plight, it seems both you and he missed verse 3. Hmmm?

Thank you Mr. Obama for upholding your oath to protect and defend our governing authority, the Constitution of the United States. Thank you for executing your Godly duty.

My letter to the Arizona Sheriff

Sheriff,

I have watched the events of the last few days unfold in your county with great sadness. I am saddened at the lives that were lost in this random act of violence. I am, however, most impressed with the father of Taylor Green. Best I can recall Mr. Green said two things that make a world of sense to me in this senseless situation. First, he said that “we will always have random acts of violence.” Second, he said in relation to his Taylor’s death that “this is the price we pay for living in a truly free country.”

Sheriff I am utterly disgusted at your political spin on the situation. You have made numerous statements that the political rhetoric in this country has consequences. You have gently pushed those who hear your rhetoric to accept your thoughts that political voices on the radio and on television have led to this tragic event caused by this lunatic. Since you are a democrat I can only reach the conclusion that you must be talking about voices of rhetoric that oppose the democrat voices of rhetoric.

Sheriff, you should be ashamed in how you are representing yourself in this situation. It was not the political rhetoric or harsh political dialogue that caused this, it was one crazed killer.

I would like to close by simply saying that lack of political dialogue has worse consequences, and that is evidenced by the wars that this nation has fought. In fact, when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and when terrorist bombed the World Trade Center, the United States was not in dialogue of any kind with the aggressors. Thus, there was no discussion at all and the consequences were great.

Lastly, you speak of the “America you grew up in...” and in fact, you have referenced that “America” in every interview I have seen you give since the shooting. Well Sheriff, with all due respect, it is your generation and your generation’s lack of leadership that has created the America you describe. You Sheriff and your generation have let us down.

In relation to you politicizing this horrible event, it is my belief that you should resign immediately.

Free Speech on NPR?

NPR fired a liberal commentator this week. You may say, no big deal. In fact, you may say – GOOD!

However, I see this as a very big deal that gives us more insight into the path of the political correctness police.

The commentator is Juan Williams.

Let me be perfectly clear – I do not agree with about 99% of what Mr. Williams says or stands for… he is indeed liberal.

My issue here is simple – he was fired for expressing his personal opinion on a talk show. According to NPR’s CEO his comments “crossed the line.”

What line?

Lets keep a few things in mind:

NPR is funded with OUR tax dollars.
NPR – just like any other liberal radio syndicate – could not exist without federal funding.
NPR is constantly attacking the conservative movement, yet the conservatives stay silent.
NPR has a strong history of poking fun at Christianity, the right wing, and the pro-life movement yet the conservatives stay silent.

It is time to be silent no more.

There is much, much more where NPR is concerned.

On this topic – however – I think conservatives and liberals alike must demand NPR no longer receive public funds – especially since NPR is censoring free speech and clearly demonstrating their ANTI-CONSITUTIONAL nature.

I would invite everyone who reads this blog to look a little deeper into my rant and check it for accuracy. Find out what happened. Do a little research. Turn off Facebook, stop playing fantasy football for a few minutes and learn about what is happening.

Then, when you have done so you will have two choices. 1) get involved and call your US Congressman or 2) do nothing. For those of you who pick #2 – consider this – today it is Juan Williams, tomorrow it could be you.

Lastly, I am puzzled by a few things in this entire ordeal:

Where is the ACLU? These people are SUPPOSED to stand up for free speech. What a joke.
Where is the NAACP? Juan is a member – what the hell are they about?
Where is MoveOn.org?
Where is the liberal outrage? Where are the protests, where are the banners, where is the support of one of the most out spoken liberals in the media?

There is no outrage from the left because Mr. Williams presented an idea that is contrary to what a majority of people on the left believe to be true.

Right or Left – THIS IS A FREE SPEECH ISSUE.

Again – call your US Congressman and cut the funding for this Anti-Constitutional crap.

There is a saying I like to post on my FaceBook wall from time-to-time, it goes like this…

“I am going to work today because thousands of people who choose not to work are depending on me for their government check.”

Fact – Since 2007 the Democrats have had control of the US Congress.

And since they have had control I ask one simple question…

Are we better off today than we were when they won control?

For me… the answer is not no, but HELL NO!

Beat the Democrats and start with John Faulk who CAN beat Sheila Jackson Lee!

Many conservative are under the impression that John Faulk can’t beat Sheila Jackson-Lee. But he can; here’s how:

In the last midterm election, about 86,000 votes were cast in the race for Congressional District 18; 66,000 of those were cast for Sheila Jackson-Lee. We can expect about the same level of turnout this time. While 15% of registered voters in district 18 are Democrat, and 4% are Republicans, a whopping 82% of registered voters are independents. That’s 221,000 independent voters.

Keeping that in mind, African American voters in CD 18 have strong conservative values but many of them have not voted in years.

John Faulk can win if conservatives turn out on November 2nd.

So, if you live in CD 18 - VOTE.

Get others out to vote!

Dear GOP members,

I am writing as it seems you are a bit confused. While I can understand this, let me help you gain some clarity.

What I am looking for in an elected official is very simple.

I am looking for a person who:

Has a SPINE.
Is not afraid to speak their mind.
Is committed to reducing the deficit.
Is committed to reducing taxes.
Is committed to reducing the size of government.
Is committed to getting the border under control – NOT – through amnesty but through current laws on the books.
Understands the constitution and will die for it.
Understands that government DOES NOT CREATE JOBS.
Understands capitalism and will not oppose it - EVER.
Will not bow to special interest.
Will volunteer and never take a salary or retirement.

I know this is asking a lot. But I assure you, if you do these things – AND STICK TO THEM – people like me will vote for you and fund you!!!!!!

If you cannot do this – step aside –get out of the way.

And for those of you who think that the old washed up “has beens” like John McCain are the answer, YOU BETTER WAKE THE HELL UP!

One final note – Hilary Clinton looks more like a conservative than most of the elected GOP members.

I typically do not write about sport related topics on this blog. As you know, I view my blog as a sacred space to vent my frustrations regarding the ever expanding and never listening federal regime, I mean government. (typo - regime implies socialism).

However, today is a special day. You see that Astros, in what must be a drunken stupor, have traded Lance Berkman. A supposed franchise player.

I guess, however, they have been in a drunken stupor for sometime.

If you know Ed Wade, please tell him he needs to hire me as a consultant. I can UNmoron him.

As Shakespeare might say… “What a moroneth is he.”

Let me remind you of a few simple facts…

In 2005 the Astros made a world series appearance. Remember?
Since that lost series, the team has been systematically dismantled at the hands of a few coaches that would not get a high school coaching job for a good high school program. (It is my story and I sticking with it!)
Today they trade Berkman. And I say… ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Where is the loyalty? Where is the concept of a franchise player?
Not only did they trade him… they paid 4 million to get rid of him.

Drayton McClain… you remind me more and more of Bud Adams. Yes, I said it. You remind me of Bud Adams. Michael Berry… you need to call him out on this… I am counting on you! Lets don’t forget the Bud. You seem to be doing the same things… stupid decision after stupid decision.

Last Sunday afternoon Representative Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) was part of the panel for a legislative workshop titled "Engaging Congress: the NAACP's Legislative Agenda to Achieve One Nation, One Dream". Representative Jackson-Lee spoke on the tea party movement among other issues:

"Representative Sheila Jackson Lee: ....And I thank you professor very much. I'm going to be engaging you with those very powerful numbers that you have offered on what the tea party recognizes, uh, or is recognized as. Might I add my own P.S.? All those who wore sheets a long time ago have now lifted them off and started wearing [applause], uh, clothing, uh, with a name, say, I am part of the tea party. Don't you be fooled. [voices: "That's right.", applause] Those who used to wear sheets are now being able to walk down the aisle and speak as a patriot because you will not speak loudly about the lack of integrity of this movement. Don't let anybody tell you that those who spit on us as we were walking to vote on a health care bill for all of America or those who said Congresswoman Jackson-Lee's braids were too tight in her hair had anything to do with justice and equality and empowerment of the American people. Don't let them fool you on that [applause]...."

Ok… so Michael Steel, Chairman of the Republican National Committee, has made a few critical errors as of late.

His most recent error is not understanding how to position himself in relation to the wars we are fighting.

Frankly, I am tired of the GOP not getting it. So, if you want me to serve as Chairman of the GOP, then get busy and nominate me. Send a link of this post to everyone you know. Call in favors. Get me appointed to lead the GOP!

Just for clarity, let me tell you what I will bring to the GOP.

Below is my no confusion list for the United States of America:

We must return our country to the super power status we once enjoyed. We must do this in both an economic and militaristic sense.
We must reduce taxes on the most taxed Americans to free up money to create jobs. This will require radical reform of the tax system.
We must clean up the oil. It must be cleaned up now! And yes, we will need international help.
We must stop the leak.
We must lift the moratorium on drilling.
We must drill on shore, here and now.
We must secure the border by any means necessary. It must be secure now. The border patrol agents and military personnel assigned to the border need the authority to what needs to be done without fear of prosecution for the lawful performance of their duties. We must match force for force the violence we are facing. Period. Dot. The end.
We must stop federal spending. We must stop it now. We must not spend another penny until we have cut the budget to match the intake less 25%!
We must reduce the size of government immediately.
We must reduce the deficit, even if it means cutting programs.
We must pass constitutional amendments for term limits, gun control relief, a balanced budget, and the presidential line item veto.
We must end pork barrel spending.
We must get the government out of private business.
We must adopt a policy that financial failure is part of capitalism and no business is too big to fail. Even GM, even Fannie Mae, etc…
We must end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan by killing the enemies of the Untied States. We are not in the business of nation building. If that is a result of our enemies being killed, then great. We must allow the US military to use whatever strategy is necessary to kill and destroy the enemies of this country.
We must protect free speech.
We must take a stand and quit playing the political correctness game.
We must appoint noble people with a proven judicial track record to the United States Supreme Court.
We must withdrawal from the United Nations and send them out of our nation.
We must fight for what is right and we must not give up!

If your GOP leaders are not communicating these messages it is because they are either scared or ignorant. In either case, they need to get on board or get out.

I have intentionally not written in the last 90 days. I really wanted to take a break and gather my thoughts about this world and how it is working.

In the last few weeks, ONE PERSON is making decisions that are impacting the entire Gulf Coast economy in a negative way.

One person has decided that there will be a moratorium on offshore drilling. ONE PERSON!!!

One person has failed to kick FEMA's ass and get them dealing with the oil spill. ONE PERSON!!!

One person has failed to accept the foreign supertankers with oil spill clean up ability. ONE PERSON!!!

One person has failed to order his administration to get busy. ONE PERSON!!!

One person has failed to declare the proper state of emergency needed to allow routine approval procedures for emergency response to be waived. ONE PERSON!!!

One person is pushing a cap and trade bill because he believes that raising my taxes, my home energy cost and the cost of my gasoline will prevent a crisis like that which is occurring in the Gulf. And if you don’t know what the cap and trade bill is… you better educate yourself to this liberal piece of crap. ONE PERSON!!!

One person has decided that the federal government will battle a state on a law they have passed because the federal government is not doing its job with managing immigration. ONE PERSON!!!

Again, get on a plane, go to a border state and spread your love. Otherwise… keep your mouth shut.

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of 300 million American are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

Excluded are the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

Excluded are all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility.

I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red .

If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they want them in IRAQ

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible!

They, and they alone, have the power!

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses!

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees...

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

So I have been thinking… I have a really good idea for the CEOs of the companies that are experiencing a negative impact as a result of the new healthcare bill.

Please read my memo:

Attention Mr. CEO;

This past week ATT announced it faces a BILLION dollar loss directly related the new healthcare plan. Now this plan, mind you, was not not supposed to raise taxes or cost more money, for anyone.

Caterpillar and 3M also announced they would lose 90 to 100 million each.

I am certain this is only the beginning.

I am also certain that this will translate to lost jobs.

So.... Here is my plan:

If you are a CEO and you are laying people off as a result of increased healthcare taxes, then I have a suggestion. Lay off people FIRST that live in the CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICTS of those REPRESENTATIVES that voted for the bill. Yes, you read that correctly. Lay them off based on what has caused the problem.

Why... those that voted for this claimed it would not cost jobs or more money.

The goal: Bring the pain right to the districts and representatives that caused it.

Lastly, when you do this, make it very big and very public.

It is time you take a stand!

Why don’t we set the record straight. The healthcare bill is not about healthcare. It is about freedom.

Yes, there are many issues surrounding the healthcare crisis, but ultimately this is about freedom.

Let me remind you, the government ALWAYS – without exception – over promises and under delivers.

Health care will be no exception.

IF YOU READ NO OTHER PART OF THIS BLOG – read this part.

This past week your President was interviewed by the evil Fox News Network. During that interview he said that he was not was not concerned about the procedural issues in the Senate or the House. He said, we needed to get this bill done, period, not matter what it takes.

My interpretation is this – THE ENDS, JUSTIFIES the MEANS.

This is the most dangerous thought to freedom.

The reason law abiding people submit to the constitution is because of law and process. The House is currently attempting to figure out how they can circumvent the law and bring this bill into law without a direct vote on the law. 100% unconstitutional.

Again, the reason law abiding people such as myself submit to the constitution is because the process is bigger then us. However, when the ends begin to justify the means, freedom is in jeopardy. When the House and Senate are figuring out ways to circumvent the will of the people, their remains little difference between their actions and that of tyrants.

I challenge you people that read this NOT to get wrapped up into healthcare. If it were good thing, this country would embrace it. However, the reality is that the latest polls show 66% of the country against it.

Again – I believe it is about freedom. Not healthcare.

Iran has declared itself a nuclear power.

I am not worried, their enrichment capacity is only at 20%.

I know this because THEY have said so.

They anticipate to be able to deliver a nuclear bomb by the end of the year, again, they have said so, this did not come from George Bush.

I am not worried, they have said they want to wipe Israel off the face of the planet, so I feel safe.

Israel is roughly 7000 miles from where I live.

Nuclear fallout will not reach me, so I am not worried.

I am worried however, about the environmental impact.

Will nuclear fallout hurt the environment?

If so, we should oppose this.

Perhaps there is a “green” weapon.

If Iran blows Israel off the face of the planet, and there is nuclear fall out, should we bill Israel for the clean up since it will be in their country?

An open letter to our GOP / Republican officials:

Dear Republican leaders – be you a Senator, House Representative, Local Party Chair or National Committee Chairman… there are few things I want you to know:

First, Brown’s victory in Massachusetts was NOT a result of people moving back toward the GOP. It was a result of people wanting to put the brakes on the Obama express. GOP leaders, to date, have DONE NOTHING TO DESERVE A SHIFT – so - don’t fool yourself and think that is what happened – it didn’t.

Second, Brown’s victory was not about stopping insurance and litigation reform, it was about stopping the nationalizing of the healthcare system. Therefore, you must lead a CONSERVATIVE effort to repair some significant healthcare related issues that are broken such as:

Portability of health insurance.
Elimination of pre existing limitations.
Tort reform.
Transparency of healthcare provider relationships to insurance companies for pricing, billing and the like.

Third, Brown’s victory was not about stopping progress to protect the environment, it was about stopping cap and trade. Therefore, you must lead a CONSERVATIVE effort to address significant environmental concerns that are REAL. There are many issues to chose from… pick some and start with the farmers not getting water in California.

Fourth, Brown’s victory was not about shifting power or control away from the liberal left, it was about creating a balance of power between the left and the right. Don’t become what you have complained about… reach across the aisle… but STAY CONSERVATIVE and offer solutions that the American people will support. STAY CONSERVATIVE!

Fifth, Brown’s victory was 100% about sending a message to all parties in politics that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Brown actually brings to the table the hope for change Obama campaigned on!!

Let me remind you of a few conservative principles that are easily embraced by most Americans:

Stop spending. Stop spending. Stop spending.
Reduce the size of the government.
Stop spending.
Read a bill before you vote on it.
Reduce taxes.
Stop the pork. Stop the pork. Stop the pork.
Know, read, and live by the constitution.
Stop spending, stop spending, stop spending.
Did I mention stop spending?

Sixth, if you use Brown’s victory as a platform to resurrect the Republican arrogance and ignorance of old, you will have learned and gained nothing AND we the people will throw everyone of you out of office the first chance we get. (Kevin – I hope you still read this – not one dime from me until you are 100% fiscally conservative – 100% of the time! You voted for the bailout – remember?)

Seventh, Brown’s victory is about listening to the people regarding the people’s business in the people’s seat in the people’s chambers. And most of them are fiscally conservative. Don’t forget it.

Eighth – to both parties – ENERGY ENERGY ENERGY. Drill here, drill now, build new sources here, build new sources now… figure this out. If you can’t, then quit.

Ninth – to both parties – HOMELAND SECURITY IS NOT A JOKE. Figure this out and quit playing games. Take the terrorists to trial as enemies of the US, not citizens who have committed a crime. If you cannot do this, then put them in the DC courts, in DC jails and do not spend a DIME of my money on them!

Tenth – to both parties – you both moan about big business and big corporations, executive pay, and unfairness, yet, when it is time for any one of them to die in the economic life cycle, you prop them up totally disregarding the most basic economic principle of supply and demand. You have saved countless corporations that have FULL SUPPLY and ZERO DEMAND. STOP THAT CRAP!

On a side note, I called Kay Bailey's office last week… what a joke. Her staff is RUDE, ARROGANT and needs to be fired. If you live in Texas and vote for this bag of old washed up political tricks… then shame on you.

There have now been 5 major elections held since Obama became president. All 5 of those elected positions have traditionally been held
by democrats. 4 of the 5 have fallen to the conservative candidate. (That is not judgment, that is fact.)
The economy sucks.
Unemployment is the highest it has been in my lifetime.
The votes for the Senate healthcare plan were gathered by promising taxpayer money to Senators and their states in exchange for their vote.

Here are my judgments:

A majority of Americans do not like the liberal agenda.

A majority of Americans are standing up, being heard, and casting their votes.

If you have not been keeping up with developments regarding the ALLEGED recent bombing attempt that ALLEGEDLY occurred on Northwest Flight #253 then you are missing quite the circus. (More on that in the next post.)

In my most humble opinion I offer you my thoughts on how to insure something like this never happens again – and for that matter – reduces the risks of bombs on planes virtually altogether: FLY NAKED!

In all reality our choices are becoming less and less. As I see it, the government seems to react to each incident and punish the innocent. The shoe bomber is the reason you take off your shoes and put your toothpaste in a bag and 9-11 man made disaster specialists are the reason you can’t bring on fingernail clippers.

Here are our choices from this point forward:

Do not fly at all. Shut down all commercial airline traffic forever.
Fly in tight, form-fitting, spandex with no luggage or carry-on bags whatsoever.
Fly naked with no luggage or carry-on bags whatsoever.
Profile. Profile. PROFILE.

What? Did you say profile? Ron – are you an extremist?

No – I am a realist!

Oh wait, I forgot one. Government take over of the airline industry. Once Obama reaches out to the extremists all of this will stop.

Almost without fail - I am asked “what can we do for this country?”

My answer – get your head out of the sand and get involved. EVEN IF IT SCARES YOU and EVEN IF YOU THINK IT UNIMPORTANT.

Their lack of ethics and and sleazy behavior is no longer acceptable. It is time to remove many of them as well as their counter parts who sit silently by while we are fiscally raped and pillaged.

BACK ROOM DEALS FOR HEALTHCARE…

Screwing #1…

First is the "Cornhusker Kickback," $100 million in extra Medicaid money, for Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.). He also secured an agreement that his state will not pay for Medicaid coverage for any new recipients – EVER. Yes, forever… they will not pay for new recipients. As a part of the deal, the federal government will pay 100 percent of Nebraska's tab indefinitely for expanding Medicaid for low-income Americans.

Screwing #2…

Second is the "Louisiana Purchase," $100 million in extra Medicaid money for the Bayou State, requested by Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.). Once she was assured of the money, she changed her vote to yes.

Screwing #3…

Third is the “U Con” deal, Sen. Christopher Dodd (D-Conn.) had written into the legislation $100 million meant for a medical center in his state.

There are more. These are only the highlights.

New Tires for 2010

So the other day I go into a tire store near my house. I only needed one tire to replace a flat one on my pollution producing, bad for the environment, Dodge Ram 2500.

As I approach the counter I realize it is only me and the tire dude in the shop. As I walk up I say, “yo’ tire dude… I need that Goodyear 7000. It seems you have it on sale for $99.00.”

He turns and says, “sorry man, you are going to get the Goodyear 10 and it will cost you $650.00. Had you already had the Goodyear 7000 then you could have got it for $99.00 but you don’t - so you will get and pay for what we give you.”

I turn to him and say “sorry man, that cost is out of my league and that tire is not designed for my truck. Looks like I will be driving it on the spare for a few more days. Actually, I think I will just park it in the driveway, that will be my Winter Solstice gift to Al Gore.”

As I turn to walk out of the door I now notice two employees standing between me and the door. One of them looks at me and says “sir, you are confused! You are buying the tire today whether you want it or not. Give me you credit card.” I then notice the other brandishing a tire tool in his hand.

Now surely you can imagine my feeling of fear and chagrin at that moment. In fact, I bet if this had happened to you it would have scared you to death. But I bet as this was happening to me you were home in your cozy warm house, snuggled up by the fire, watching some football OR maybe you were out Winter Solstice shopping OR maybe you were at a soccer game OR maybe you were sleeping OR maybe you were with family celebrating the non-religious holiday season and labeling conservatives as lunatics, OR maybe you had your head shoved in the sand waiting for someone else to save me from my trouble that day and saying nothing like that could ever happen in America!

As I stood at the back door facing two men determined not to let me leave, I looked outside to see a police officer walking into the shop. What a sense of relief that was! As soon as he walked in I proceed to tell him what was happening. To my surprise, he looks at me and says… “Sir, that all sounds fine, but if you don’t buy the tire today I am going to have to arrest and fine you. So why don’t you just shut your mouth and give them your credit card?” He continues, “I know this tire is not the tire you want or need for your truck, but you must buy it or you will go to jail.”

I take a deep breath and asked “WHAT?”

He responds, “the federal government has decided that all vehicles must now use the Goodyear 10. You have no choice. Now the fine Senators and Representatives and the Emperor all use the Goodyear 7000 but It is now a crime for YOU NOT to have a Goodyear 10. It is now punishable with one year in jail and a $25,000.00 fine. I realize the tires of the past have served you well. I realize that you worked hard to pay for them, but not more! That time of luxurious living is over. Everyone now gets the Goodyear 10, it is what is best for us all.”

“Oh great…” I say “well I just will not drive any longer.”

“Sir” he replies, “while that will be a good thing for the environment, the government has also decided that every person in America must own a motorized vehicle or face jail time and a $25,000.00 fine.”

“But I don’t want a government mandated vehicle. And I don’t want to pay for a government mandated vehicle that I don’t want or need. And I don’t want to buy the Goodyear 10 for the truck I don’t want or need. This is an extra vehicle, it is a privilege to have it. I worked hard to pay for it and I will just park it.”

“No sir, you will not. You have have forgotten that we lost that battle with healthcare on the day CONGRESS - for the first time in history - voted to FORCE AMERCIANS TO PAY FOR AND OWN AN ITEM THEY DID NOT WANT. Sir, this is no different.”

“Sir buy the tire and lets have a Merry Winter Solstice.”

Representative Louie Gohmert (R-TX) introduced bill number H.R. 4127 that will prevent self-confessed September 11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed and co-conspirators from being tried in a New York City civilian court with the potential protections and rights of an American citizen. The bill would amend the Military Commissions Act of 2009 to make it mandatory that all foreign terrorists (which under amendments this year are now called “alien unprivileged enemy belligerents”) stand trial in a constitutionally established military commission rather than a civilian court. Rep. Gohmert, a former judge and Ranking Member of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security, released the following statement:
"These self-confessed foreign terrorists helped in the planning and efforts to commit the worst assault against the United States in our country’s history, and the Obama Administration wants to treat them as if they are American citizens. They do not even qualify for treatment as combatants under the Geneva Convention. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his co-conspirators do not deserve to be crowned with the rights of an American citizen on American soil. They are war criminals having admitted to international war crimes and having been captured on foreign battlefields. Their trial in a U.S. District Court would create devastating evidentiary complications, and pose an increased risk to the safety of our nation and citizens.

“Our Constitution offers a better answer in seeking justice. Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution provides Congress with the authority to establish Tribunals, and such military commissions provide the requisite due process protections and a fair trial. In fact, it is Congress, not the President or Supreme Court, that is given complete authority to establish all courts and their jurisdictions that are inferior to the Supreme Court under Article III, Sections 1 & 2. Therefore, there is simply no adequate reason to bring these terrorists onto American soil and into the heart of our country’s most densely populated city that they mercilessly attacked. The legislation I am offering is completely constitutional while also more in keeping with our oath to protect this nation against all enemies, foreign and domestic. It is also a responsibility of the U.S. Congress to offer such a solution to counter the irresponsible judgment of this Administration to voluntarily and unnecessarily bring more fear and terror to New York City.”
Though some officials from Illinois have cited potential new jobs in their area as a reason to bring terrorists stateside, Gohmert does not believe that justifies either the risk of further terrorism or the dangerous precedent of giving war criminals the rights of American citizens.

More than 40 of Congressman Gohmert’s colleagues have already signed on to the bill as original cosponsors, with more expecting to join.

As you know by now the Senate has passed cloture in order to begin debate on the health care bill.

I had the opportunity to watch and listen as some of these morons stated their points and cast their votes.

My prediction is it will pass and we will be stuck with this piece of legislation until the next election.

However… I predict this is what the liberals WHO VOTE FOR THE BILL will sound like when they are scrambling to explain why they voted yes on cloture and eventually will vote yes on the bill.

It might sound something like this…

Imagine that fine Louisiana or Arkansas liberal that sold you out…

“You see… I voted YES on the motion to cloture. I really had no intention of supporting the bill as it was written. I voted YES to move out of cloture, in fact, I intended to vote NO on the bill and YES only to debate bill I would vote NO on later when I made my NO a YES for you.

So you see, I never really voted YES for the bill… per say…. but rather to debate on the bill. So my vote was a vote to talk about healthcare not a vote to change healthcare. And then when the bill hit the floor… I became confused… You see, I was thinking I was again voting for cloture – so - I cast a YES vote… but in reality meant to cast a NO vote.

In essence, you must look at what I intended to do… and that was to vote NO. However, I realize it looks like I voted YES – especially since that is what the record says – but that is not what I meant to do. So what I am asking is for you to put yourself in my shoes and imagine the confusion. A NO vote means I would make Obama mad and a YES vote means I make you mad. Clearly - Obama is smarter than you – and AARP agreed with him and they are the experts of old people and healthcare– so I acted against my intention to vote NO and voted YES. This was very difficult – I was engaged in turmoil over how to convince you my YES was NO and my NO was YES. Again I never – never – had the intention of this legislation passing. My only intention was to keep Obama happy. Therefore, you can clearly see – my intention has been with you – the people – this entire time. I never meant to vote YES, but NO, so my NO was really YES and my YES became NO. Now you can see that I was confused by what I meant in how I cast my ballot for you by voting YES against your resounding NO. See?”

By now you know the health care bill passed the US House of Representatives last night. There is so much to write about this topic – but I will remain brief and start with a few simple thoughts.

In essence the government took the first step in taking control of 1/6th of the US economy.

(Oh – it is OK Ron – don’t worry. The AMA and AARP said so. And Gene Green told me it will be OK. Don’t worry Ron – think positive. Something had to be done – right? People dying in the streets in mass etc…)

Please get this:

Our government now owns your banks.
Our government now owns your insurance companies.
Our government now owns your automobile manufactures.
Our government now is in control of YOUR HEALTH.

Is this what we are about? Is this what our founders envisioned?

Income Tax & Healthcare – Similar Origins

Income tax began in 1861. The original tax was levied to pay for the war effort of the American Civil War. The first income tax was 3% of all incomes over $800.00. The tax was repealed and replaced by another income tax in 1862.

In 1894, Democrats passed the Wilson-Gorman tariff, which imposed the first peacetime income tax. The rate was 2% on income over $4000, which meant fewer than 10% of households would pay any. The purpose of the income tax was to make up for revenue that would be lost by tariff reductions. I ask you… did the intention of the bill outlive the reality of where we are now? NO!

POINTS

Income tax, like healthcare, was meant to be the responsibility of the “wealthiest” Americans.

Currently – healthcare costs will be funded by those making over $500,000.00 a year. EVENTUALLY THAT AMOUNT WILL BE LOWERED and 60% of us will foot the bill for 40% – Just like income tax!

You will pay for healthcare for those who say “I can’t afford it” as they live in a $300,000.00 home OR drive an $80,000.00 BMW OR gamble away their income OR fail to prioritize their finances to cover what is most important ETC…

There is no constitutional provision for this type of wealth redistribution – NONE – ZIP – ZERO - but yet – your congress seems perfectly willing to do it.

In the last 24 months these three major legislative pieces have passed:

TARP (700 billion dollars)
CAP and TRADE ( will raise your energy bill by $150.00 / month)
Healthcare (1.4 trillion dollars)

Our congress is killing our economic freedom.

Here is my final question – What are you doing about it?

If you think the life of soccer games and beer drinking will continue as we spiral into economic turmoil – think again!

By the way – I think since bearing arms is a constitution right – the government should buy everyone a gun and make them carry it – even if they don’t want to….

The threat of a nuclear detonation is the Middle East is very real.

I am truly concerned about this for many reasons. If you are a LIBERAL / DEMOCRAT you MUST PAY attention and join my fight to beg and plead and barter and negotiate with IRAN not to blow up the middle east.

Please contact your elected officials and encourage them to encourage Iran to please, pretty please, pretty pretty please, not launch a nuclear weapon.

Here are my reasons that even a liberal can understand:

If Iran launches a nuclear weapon into Israel it will have a negative environmental impact. The destruction to the environment will be significant. Green Peace needs to step it up on this one!
A nuclear blast will expedite global warming or a least regional warming and wind current / jet streams. The temperatures will increase and the polar ice caps will begin to melt – again.
During and after a nuclear blast countless innocent animals will die. There is no need to harm wildlife because people can’t get along. PETA needs to act as this will definitely have an impact on wildlife.
A nuclear blast will needlessly kill many endangered species. I am not sure if there are any endangered species or wildlife, but they will be impacted, even if they don’t exist.
If the CAP and TRADE bill has passed by detonation day we will need Iran to pay a penalty for increasing their carbon footprint. If so, who will they be required to pay? The US or the UN? This must be worked out as a carbon footprint is expensive.
A nuclear blast will needlessly kill many pregnant women in the region who are waiting for abortions to needlessly kill their child in the womb. Please note: this is their right and you taxes should pay for this. Planned Parenthood needs time to make a plan to prevent this massacre of the unborn.
A nuclear launch will hamper Iran’s ability to get the Olympics. We need the Olympics to be in Iran. I don’t know why – but we do.
An effective nuclear blast will anger the Palestinians as they will not be the ones to WIPE ISRAEL OFF THE PLANET. We don’t want to make them angry, they may move here. We just all need to get along and hold each other.

These are my reasons why Iran should please – pretty please – not develop and not deploy and not detonate a nuclear bomb in the Middle East. What are yours?

- You go to a town hall meeting and actually speak opposition to the proposed government take over of health care.

- You are opposed to paying higher taxes so that people who do not work can be stay at home employees of the government.

- You own, have ever owned, or intend to own a vehicle that gets less that 30 MPG.

- You think GM, AIG, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and others should have failed and went bankrupt because of their lack business ethics.

- You opposed the bailouts.

- You oppose how our Secretary of State is making a total ass of herself and this country abroad.

- You are opposed the cap and trade legislation that will cause our utility bills to skyrocket.

- You support a non-white candidate who is conservative.

- You think Congressman like Gene Green and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee need to leave office because they are serving Nancy Pelosi and not their constituents.

USS Government is Racist…

Fact: The US Government has stopped the water supply to farmers in Fresno California and California’s fertile San Joaquin Valley.

Fact: This area is in drought conditions.

Fact: Water has been cut off to protect a tiny minnow-sized fish critical in the ecological life-support system for orcas and several salmon families – A MINNOW.

Fact: The area has the eighth highest unemployment rate among the state’s 57 counties.

Fact: The farms employ Mexican immigrants – documented farm workers.

Fact: California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenneger has declared the valley counties a disaster area and hopes for $3 million to $4 million a month in extended unemployment benefits and other aid to the targeted cities and counties. The Obama administration has yet to sign off on the request.

Fact: Interior Secretary Ken Salazar visited the stricken area and listened to the plight from county and city elected officials, state representatives, farmers and laborers. That was June 28. He promised nothing and no directives have been issued from his office on the subject since that time.

Fact: The delta smelt, the threatened minnow destined on the Endangered Species list, plug the drains releasing water to the farm lands. As a result, the Westlands Water District serving Mendota, a city in Fresno County, restricted the federal water allotment to farmlands to 10%. One result is planted fields going to rot and the other Mendota’s unemployment rate reaching 41%.

My Conclusion…

The US Government is not releasing water to this area because a majority of the people impacted are Hispanic. Our nation’s leaders, including our President, should drop their racist approach to water rationing and PUT THESE PEOPLE BACK TO WORK!

Action…

Call your elected congressman and senator and tell them to stop the racially-based water rationing actions against the Hispanic farm workers.

Oh wait… maybe it is not race. Maybe the liberal lunes think more about a minnow than the citizens of Fresno. If this were Bezerkly I might agree.

A hardcore pro-life activist was gunned down in Owosso, Michigan last week as he was protesting against abortion outside the town high school. Police say James L. Pouillon was shot multiple times from a passing car. Fortunately, most of the kids were already in school at the time.

Owosso police have already arrested a 33-year-old suspect. The suspect seems to have also murdered a second man that same morning.

Pouillon, a retired GM worker, was a well known figure in Owosso. He was known as "the sign man" for his daily anti-abortion protests going back decades. Fellow pro-lifers knew him as a kindly 63-year-old devoted to the cause. He certainly wasn't a physical threat to anyone. James Pouillon often protested outside the high school.

My thoughts…(please note – MY OPIONION – parody at work)

I think it is ashamed that the Liberal Left is no longer willing to talk about abortion but instead has resorted to hate crime and the violent killing of innocent protestors to make their point.

It is now clear to me that those on the left do not need to posses firearms.

Their hate is now clear and their action upon their hate demonstrates where the left is mentally.

I am calling for all of those who are known democrats to check in your weapons.

In my opinion - it is now clear that abortion loving liberals on the left want pro-lifers dead!

Further, it is my opinion that the likes of Keith Olberman and Rachel Maddow on networks like MSNBC that have raised such outrage in the people that this flashpoint of violence was inevitable.

Olberman and Maddow continue, in my opinion, to incite the left against the pro-life right by continually labeling them as evil, racist, non-caring people.

Well now we know…. the left wants people like me dead!

It is no surprise to me that this 33 year old suspect acted out on the brain washing that has been permutated from MSNBC for the last few years (my opinion). It is also no surprise to me that he felt it his duty to act in such a passionate manner, feeling helpless and hopeless.

In my opinion Oberman and Maddow have blood on their hands!!

They should be taken off the air immediately to prohibit any further encouragement of violence from liberal left activists such as the blood that was spilled on the ground in Owosso.

Serious thoughts…

This is sad.
The suspect – owns 100% of his behavior.
No one is to blame but the man who pulled the trigger. Not Olberman… Not Maddow… not the Democrats…
The previous few paragraphs were written to mimic the garbage that has been spewed out by the left when right wing lunes act out. Clearly, this suspect was a left wing lune and does not represent a majority of the liberal left which are typically nice and decent folks.
I wish the liberal media would report this… but you will not see this on CNN, ABC, NBC, or CBS because this was Pro-Life who was killed by an apparent liberal lune. If you reverse it, it get national coverage!

In Obama's speech before a joint session of Congress on 9/9/09, he lays out specific reasons why we need health care reform. Unfortunately, he gets them all wrong.

“There are now more than 30 million American citizens who cannot get coverage.”
“And every day, 14,000 Americans lose their coverage.”
“Those who do have insurance have never had less security and stability than they do today.”

First off, Obama drops 15 million from the rolls of the uninsured with no explanation. He must have had advance notice of the Census Bureau's report released on the 10th. For an analysis of the numbers, check out this article at hotair.com. While Ed Morrisey does a great job of cracking the numbers, I'd like to point out that President Obama didn't claim there were 30 million without insurance - he claims there are 30 million who CANNOT GET COVERAGE. That's a huge difference and based on the Census Bureau's numbers he's claiming that all 30 million without coverage can't get it. This blatantly untrue - just don't call him a liar.
On the President's second assertion of how many American's lose their coverage every day, Morrisey nails it:

Finally, let’s address the canard of “14,000 people lose their health insurance every day.“ The number of people insured rose over the course of the year, by over a million, and those covered by government programs rose by almost 5 million. If 14,000 people lose their health insurance every day, it would amount to 5 million more uninsured for the year. Nothing in the new data gives that indication, and in fact shows that more people find health insurance now than lose it.

This is of course ObamaMath which is a class I skipped in High School and College, but you'll need to take that special class to understand Obamanomics and Obamacare. So, basically it's mathematically impossible to have 14,000 people losing their insurance each day while showing a net increase in the number of insured - just don't call him a liar.

Finally, he provides a statement which is - well - ridiculous. “Those who do have insurance have never had less security and stability than they do today.” Since the beginning of invention of insurance, we've never had less security and stability than today. Right. Beyond the lame statement, consider the fact that IF it WERE true - it'd be the governments fault. The one thing that creates instability and insecurity in health insurance is the fact that the government gives incentives tying health insurance to your employment and punishes you for carrying private insurance. The president's answer to this - more government interference.

Bottom line - don't expect someone who can't even diagnose the problem to be able to give you a cure. The president had an opportunity to be the uniter that he promised, but instead insulted the majority of Americans who are in opposition to government intrusion into our health care decisions, offered the same worn out leftist ideas that have failed everywhere they are tried and then told us to shut up and pass his yet to be defined detailed bill. Epic fail.

A few things about Obama’s speech to students…

It seems everyone is in an uproar about President Obama speaking to the nation’s youth. This may surprise you, but I think this is fine.

Let’s take a look at a few things before we get excited.

Most people are 100% OK with the government stepping right into their lives… what is one more intrusion? My God people, you are not raising your children now, why do care if OBAMA jumps in? Don’t you know he will speak and the masses will respond?

The main thing is this…

We are in a time of economic hardship perhaps as close tot he great depression as we will ever be.

President Obama wants to make sure that he can positively impact as many young children as possible so that when they grow up they will be productive little US citizens. Further, they will help keep the US on the right track! <Now, just for grins and giggles click here and read this.>

Things to think about are…

Government leaders do not need to address my children independent of my presence EXCEPT in a national emergency. This creates a dangerous precedent and can be used as tool of indoctrination leading to tyranny.

So… this is not about race – it is about a government leader attempting to reach into the mind of my child.

When this occurs, it can become the beginning of more government interference into my life, and I don’t want that!

The meeting was held at South Lakes High School in Reston, Virginia, in Fairfax County. Many people were left outside when the school filled to capacity.

I may not agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it!

Today I don’t feel like writing. Many of you may think that is a good thing, but I am just flat out concerned about where our nation is headed.

It is my estimation that so many people have their head buried in the sand as to what is happening in our country. Many of you will not read past this paragraph because this is nonsense to you.

OK… don’t read, don’t get involved, but remember - the German propaganda was nonsense, so was the Russian propaganda, and the middle eastern propaganda. Nothing ever came out of those propaganda producing machines. In fact, the holocaust was a lie, Russia remains the greatest nation in the world, and women in the middle east aren't stoned to death when their hubby doesn’t like them anymore.

Go ahead… live life like you know it…you have a good three years of freedom left. When they shut off the NFL, NBA, or MLB maybe you will wake the hell up.

When they shut off American Idol or Survivor maybe you will push hard enough to free your head.

Or – when they decide that little league shouldn't be allowed in the suburbs because there are no fields in the inner cities.

Or – when they decide children shouldn't keep score in games because it creates winners and losers and nobody should ever lose.

OH wait… that will never happen… this is America.

WRONG – that would not happen in your grandparent’s America – but it can darn sure happen here!

I talk to people daily that are willing to sacrifice their liberty for comfort of mind. (Healthcare). Even more scary… they are willing to sacrifice MY liberty for their comfort of mind (Cap and Trade and climate change). This goes back to George Bush (Homeland Security) and now to Hussein Obama (FCC control of airwaves.)

A few weeks ago I blogged a piece titled - “While you were sleeping.” So my first question to you is this…

ARE YOU SLEEPING?

If you hit the snooze button and don’t pay attention to what is happening right now I am afraid that what we call America will vanish before our eyes.

Those of you on the left who read this blog remember one thing… if you don’t stand for the most basic constitutional rights in this county for everyone, nobody will be left to stand for you when this county falls under Marxist control.

My second question is this:

WILL YOU DIE FOR MY RIGHT OF FREE SPEECH?

“I may not agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it!” This is one of my favorite quotes. But I tell you with 100% honesty… I would die for your right to speak.

In late 1700 a group of men gathered and created a pack together. It was very simple – they banded together and committed to each other that they would die for each other and for the future of this nation so that we could all enjoy LIBERTY.

Will you die for liberty?

Will you die so that your political opponents can be heard?

Really? Will you die if Marxism goes on a full march in this nation? Really?

Will you take a bullet – will you – for your kids? For your nation?

I have NEVER called anyone on the left names, grouped them together or attempted to silence them. The reverse is simply not true. In the last few weeks I have been called a racist, an extremist, a leader in the vast right wing conspiracy, a homophobe and so no….

Why the names you may asked. Very simple – divide and conquer. If I can be grouped, I can be isolated.

Those on the extreme left would have people like me silenced.

Not yet… first they will take out Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Michel Berry, Fox News, and then people like me who oppose the ideas of big government.

IF YOU GET NOTHING ELSE FROM THIS WRITING – GET THIS – IT IS NOT THE FACT THAT I OPPOSE BIG GOVERNMENT OR HEALTCARE FOR ALL OR FCC REGULATION THAT WILL CAUSE ME TO ONE DAY BE SHUT DOWN – IT IS THE FACT I OPPOSE - PERIOD.

On Tuesday, MSNBCs Contessa Brewer fretted over health care reform protesters legally carrying guns:

"A man at a pro-health care reform rally...wore a semiautomatic assault rifle on his shoulder and a pistol on his hip....there are questions about whether this has racial overtones....white people showing up with guns." Brewer failed to mention the man she described was black.

Following Brewers report, which occurred on the Morning Meeting program, host Dylan Ratigan and MSNBC pop culture analyst Toure discussed the supposed racism involved in the protests. Toure argued: "...there is tremendous anger in this country about government, the way government seems to be taking over the country, anger about a black person being president....we see these hate groups rising up and this is definitely part of that." Ratigan agreed: "...then they get the variable of a black president on top of all these other things and that's the move the cherry on top, if you will, to the accumulated frustration for folks."

Not only did Brewer, Ratigan, and Toure fail to point out the fact that the gun-toting protester that sparked the discussion was black, but the video footage shown of that protester was so edited, that it was impossible to see that he was black. The man appeared at a health care rally outside of President Obamas speech to the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Phoenix, Arizona.

I am not sure what it actually stands for… and based on what I watch them do… I am not sure what they actually do!

As I write this I am sitting in Hobby Airport in Houston, Texas. I have just passed the screening area where three blue shirts are working and 15 blue shirts are doing nothing. YES - I counted… 15 blue shirts doing absolutely nothing.

Now as I traveled through the screening line, the person in front of me was thoroughly interrogated because she was dumb enough to keep mouthwash in her bag. Poor fool. By the reaction of the blue shirts one might think she had brought an atomic bomb into the airport.

So what prompted me to write this…

After I cleared the screening… leaving Scope girl behind… I entered into a gift shop near my gate. I did my usual perusal of books, magazine glances to check up on Brittani (by the way she has lost weight), and completed a purchase of gum and diet coke.

As cashier girl is swiping my card I look down and to my total shock and awe I see a bottle of Scope. Yes… scope. The same Scope for which Scope girl back the screening line was getting the wand. Yes… scope. Then, I noticed a full apothecary of personal hygiene items that I found very unique considering the TSA rules.

So… what was there at that counter… less that 50 feet from my gate?

Well, there was an 8 ounce bottle of alcohol based hand gel. (For those in San Francisco – this stuff is flammable.) But wait… don’t be alarmed… it was stored a safe distance from the cigarette lighters.

Yes… hand gel and lighters – 50 feet from the gate. Now the most amazing thing, and perhaps the most ironic, was Right Guard in aerosol form.

Now here is my question - have you ever seen the fire ball an aerosol spray is capable of producing? MY GOD – are you kidding me? This stuff is capable of making a blow torch that could kill an alligator.

So get this… lets say I buy the hand gel, a lighter and the spray deodorant. I then spread the gel on seats in the plane, fire the lighter up, and shoot a fireball on the gel. BAMN… Napalm in the sky.

All the while Scope girl is getting wanded and treated like crap.

After this, if any of you ask me why I don’t want government morons in charge of my health care… close your eyes, take a deep breath and get ready for me to hit you with my bat. (For my liberal friends – this is a joke. REPEAT, this is all a joke. I would never hit you with a bat. Fire a Right Guard blow torch at you maybe… but never the bat.)

On a side note, I showed my find to scope girl and she was a little ticked.

She bought a lighter and then wandered aimlessly away.

In closing… try this on for size:

“Trust me, I am with the government.”

Time to amend the US Constitution

This post is simple and sweet.

If I were a congressman my first work in office would be to offer amendments to the US Constitution. I want you to know that I deeply respect our founders and the intellect they brought to creating this nation, crafting the declaration of independence, and writing the constitution. That said… it is time for a few amendments.

So… if I were elected, these are the amendments I would offer:

Amendment 28 – Congressional Term Limits and Benefits

Section 1. No person shall be elected more than twice to the office of Senator with a maximum of time in office of 14 years.

No person shall be elected more than three times to the office of representative with a maximum of time in office of 7 years.

Section 2. No person who has held the office of Senator or Representative shall collect retirement or benefits from the United States after they have completed their term.

Section 3. Persons serving as members of the Congress shall be entitled to benefits matching but not exceeding the lowest US military pay grade.

Amendment 30 – Balanced Budget

Section 1. Prior to each fiscal year, the Congress shall adopt a statement of receipts and outlays for that year in which total outlays are no greater than total receipts. The Congress may amend such statement provided revised outlays are not greater than revised receipts. Whenever three-fifths of the whole number of both Houses shall deem it necessary, Congress in such statement may provide for a specific excess of outlays over receipts by a vote directly to that subject. The Congress and the President shall ensure that actual outlays do not exceed the outlays set forth in such statement.

Section 2. Total receipts for any fiscal year set forth in the statement adopted pursuant to this article shall not increase by a rate greater than the rate of increase in national income in the last calendar year ending before such fiscal year, unless a majority of the whole number of both Houses of Congress shall have passed a bill directed solely to approving specific additional receipts and such bill has become law.

Section 3. The Congress may waive the provisions of this article for any fiscal year in which a declaration of war is in effect.

Section 4. The Congress may not require that the states engage in additional activities without compensation equal to the additional costs.

Section 5. Total receipts shall include all receipts of the United States except those derived from borrowing and total outlays shall include all outlays of the United States except those for repayment of debt principal.

Section 6. This article shall take effect for the second fiscal year beginning after its ratification.

Amendment 31 – Tax

Section 1. All federal taxes are now abolished and Congress’s ability to levy and collect taxes is restricted to this amendment.

Section 2. The only taxes that Congress may levy is the US Federal Income Tax and National Sales Tax.

Section 3.The Congress may levy a Federal Income Tax not to exceed 10% to any one individual or business, public or private.

Section 4. The Congress may levy a National Sales Tax not to exceed 1% on the sale of goods and service sold in the United States and abroad.

Amendment 32 – Effects of Law

Congress cannot exempt themselves from the effects of any law of the United States.

Amendment 33 – Radio and Television Transmission

Congress shall make no law, pass no regulation that impacts radio or television transmissions if such are political in nature.

Amendment 34 – Federal Funding

Congress shall make no law restricting the utilization of federal funds offered to states to be contingent upon states adopting set standards or laws as a condition of receiving funds. Congress may restrict how funds are expended but not through contingency of a State adopting, passing, or creating laws or regulations.

I know these will need a little work… but it is a start!

US Congressman Restricts Town Hall Meetings

US Congressman Gene Green has announced that he is restricting attendance at his town hall meetings based on where you live and your civility.

I never in my life thought I would see the day in this - supposedly free nation - when a congressman would restrict who was in attendance in an open forum based on their residence and civility.

I hope that if you get nothing else from this post get this… GENE GREEN has restricted MY right to free speech based on where I live and his definition of civil discussion! AND… SINCE HE HAS DONE IT TO ME, HE CAN SURE DO IT TO YOU!

I know this may be hard to believe when you consider this is America but take a look at the memo from Gene’s website :

“Town hall meetings are one of my favorite ways to communicate with constituents. I have held hundreds during my years of service in Congress and always welcomed everyone to attend. Unfortunately, due to a coordinated effort to disrupt our town hall meetings, we will be restricting further attendance to residents of the 29th Congressional District and verifying residency by requiring photo identification. Whether individuals agree or disagree, we must maintain order to have a civil discussion of the issues. While I regret this restriction, it is necessary for the safety and consideration of our constituents. Those who do not reside in the 29th Congressional should contact their Member of Congress to voice any concerns that they may have on issues before Congress.”

If you are new reader please know that I started this blog to encourage political involvement.

My message now is this:

If you have been politically idle… get involved.

If you live in Gene’s district – you must stop this dictate.

If you have done nothing… do something.

If you want your freedom – fight for it now!

This must stop now before people like Gene push our country beyond the point of no return.

So… what I want you to know… the facts:

I have been very vocal at Gene’s town hall meetings (see videos on previous posts).
I have asked him questions about healthcare that he has refused to answer because I do not live in his district OR because he does not want people to know the truth (see videos on previous posts).
I have seen no evidence that safety is a concern at his meetings.
I AM NOT PART OF A COORDINATED EFFORT!
Gene is an elected official acting in a public capacity.
Gene is defining the terms of “civil discussion.”
I do not live in his district.
GENE’s vote affects every American – including me – not just those living in his district.
Gene serves on committees to which I have no elected representative to carry my voice. Thus, my only public input into his committee service is directly to him in open forums such as town hall meetings.
Organized efforts brought liberty to a once oppressed people in 1776.

So you may be asking… what can I do… I am only one person:

I can call my representative and voice my concerns about liberty!
I can call congressman Green’s office and tell him I want people to be able to exercise free speech – even if i don’t like what they are saying!
I can call 5 people and take them to the next town hall for the sole purpose of expressing my right of free speech!
I can call both US senators, my state rep, my state senator, and the governor and ask them to publicly condemn Green’s action while encouraging them to take a stand for free speech!
I can call any and every media outlet that will listen and ask them to report on what the congressman has done.
I can show up at every political rally for Gene Green in the next election and voice my concerns there!!

Yesterday I wrote that our nation is really facing is about control NOT healthcare. Today I say it with more certainty… it is so.

It is my estimation that too many people are sitting idly by waiting for someone else to get their hands dirty. YOU MUST RISE…YOU MUST GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY - if you do not… there will be no one left to rise!!

If you are a constituent of Gene Green I beg you to show up at his next town hall meeting and raise your voice on his betrayal of the constitution.

It is about control… not healthcare

All this talk about healthcare is a smoke screen. It is my belief that it is really about the desire of our federal government to gain unprecedented control of our liberty. I have assembled a variety of video clips / reports to make my point…

First on my list:

My personal interaction with Congressman Gene Green. This clip was shot at a town hall meeting in East Houston. During the meeting Congressman Green repeatedly makes it clear that his town hall meetings are for his constituents only. When I stand to speak, he refuses to answer my questions and sarcastically points to the fact that I don’t live in his district. HE SEEMS TO FORGET I AM AFFECTED BY HIS VOTE regardless of where I live. At the conclusion of the meeting he indicates that the days of town hall meetings may be ending as people are upset.

Second on my list:

The President of the United States has informed those opposed to healthcare reform that they need to “get out of the way.” In essence, Obama says those who created the mess need to to get out of the way and be silent. Well Mr. Obama - that would be the democrats!

It seems that Obama does not know OR has conveniently forgotten that much modern healthcare is a result of the HMO Act of 1973. That bill was authored and pushed through the senate by none other than Ted Kennedy.

Please note how proud he was of the bill at its adoption! Much like Cap and Trade.

In essence - the folks who created the mess ARE NOT people like me. When I talk – I should be heard. Last I checked it is my constitutional right to voice opposition. Let me point out that CNN aired the following story… not FOX. Watch this all the way through – Obama is sick of the criticism – Boo Hoo!

The hypocrisy of our President is apparent. The Democrats, under the leadership of Ted Kennedy created the HMO. And now, all of sudden, HMOs are broken - and evil – and out of control – causing the end of the world as we know - and the Democrats want YOU to believe that conservatives created them and then then broke them!

That my friends is a lie.

Third on my list:

FLAG THE WHITE HOUSE. If this does not scare you – then you need to wake up. I wish I were making this up. Click here to be directed www.whitehouse.gov and the report your neighbor program. Yes – it is real.

Now stay with me on this… September 11, 2001 planes hit the WTC. Within the following 24 months the Department of Homeland Security is created and the Patriot Act is passed. (And before you Bush haters email me… I was opposed to that as well.)

NOW CAN YOU IMAGINE THE LIBERAL OUTRAGE THAT WOULD HAVE ENSUED IF BUSH HAD POSTED A “REPORT YOUR NEIGHBOR” link at www.whitehouse.gov so that he could gather names of those that did not understand the program. REALLY – can you imagine it? Really?

So… one Senator has stood up… US Senator John Cornyn from Texas. Click here to watch the interview. Click here to see the letter Cornyn has sent to the President.

Let me be clear – I am not a huge Cornyn fan… but it looks like he may actually be a little conservative as evidenced by him standing up for free speech.

Conclusions:

Congressman Gene Green thinks – and has said – that people out of his district should not be able to speak at his town hall meetings. (Control.)
Congressman Gene Green is contemplating – and has said – that he may start requiring people to show ID just to get into his public town hall meetings. (Control.)
Congressman Gene Green reminded those at his last town hall meeting that it was being held on private property and HE was going to control what was said and HOW it was said. (Control.)
President Obama wants those that disagree with him to be silent. (Control.)
President Obama wants YOU to report people like me. (Control.)

So I have concluded… this is about control!!!

So why control…Read this book!

Healthcare thoughts…

I have heard from many of you who read my last post and are upset that I don’t believe that there are 47 million people who do not have health care insurance.

So… lets play a game. Stay with me as we move through this…

There are roughly 304,000,000 people in America.
Let’s assume – for the sake of argument - that family practice physicians only treat the insured – as the media and those on the left are leading us to believe.
Let’s assume – for the sake of argument - that the health care system is burdened and out of control – as the media and those on the left are leading us to believe.
These assumptions mean that 257,000,000 are being treated – as needed by their physicians.
These assumptions also means that 47,000,000 are untreated because they are not covered- as the media and those on the left are leading us to believe.
The WHO estimates that there are 1.5 million physicians in the US.
The American Academy of Family Physicians estimates that there are roughly 400,000 family practice physicians.

HEAR ME NOW – this is the check point….

If the AAFP, the media, and the left are correct – this means that 400,000 of the 1.5 million practicing physicians are family practitioners.
If the media and liberal left are correct in that only the insured are getting treated then the physician to patient ratio for the US is 1 to 642

HEAR ME NOW – this is the problem

If we flip a switch on January 1st, 2010 and grant everyone universal coverage – we will need and additional 73,208 physicians to cover the newly insured and keep the ration at 1 to 642.

This begs a few questions?

Where are they – the 73,208 family practice physicians - going to come from?
What will will happen when the load is spread from a ratio of 1 to 642 to the NEW ratio of 1 to 760?
How will the patient load be rationed to practicing physicians?
What happens to the load if physicians opt out of the public plan?

Other thoughts…

Let’s remember this started on assumptions. I offer to you the problems is not as large as you are being lead to believe. There are not 47 million people who are not receiving medical care. Do not fall for that!!

In my estimation what needs to happen is:

We need to clearly identify segments of the healthcare system that needs to be reformed or repaired.
We need to do this slowly and we need to do it with healthcare providers and insurance companies.
We need desperately to correct the largest burden on the current system by stopping illegal immigrants from flooding the hospitals.

The most dangerous statement in the bill is that illegal immigrants will not be covered. If you get nothing else… get this… the bill reads this way because the left knows that most Americans are sick of paying for illegal aliens. So – they have included this language to make you feel better. What they are not telling you is that the next large piece of legislation will be to provide amnesty for illegal aliens. They – the left – are already writing it.

Remember the Obama agenda:

Fix the economy
Cap and Trade
Healthcare
Amnesty

He told you what he was going to do… now he is doing it!

Quick talking points on healthcare

One concept that you must know before talking about health care is SPS. It is short for SINGLE PAYER SYSTEM. A single payer systems looks great in theory – but – means that ALL funding for ALL the healthcare you will need will come from ONE SOURCE. That source is the United States government. (Click here for a more detailed description of a single payer system.)

Talking points for opposing a federally mandated universal health insurance:

#1 I have a lack of trust for the current administration. Obama has said repeatedly he wants a SINGLE PAYER SYSTEM. Obama has said repeatedly he does not want a SINGLE PAYER SYSTEM. Look at the video clip and you decide who is lying… Obama or Obama.

Obama for a single payer system and Obama against a single payer system.

It is clear to me that the Obama administration wants a single payer system because it forces dependence on the state and ultimately gives the government control over your life.

#2 I know – for a fact, that Health care INSURANCE is a benefit, not a right. The US Constitution does not guarantee or create any claim to a right of health insurance. (Source – The United State Constitution.)

#3 There ARE NOT 47 million people without health insurance coverage. THIS IS A MYTH and should not be used as a statistic to provide universal coverage. (Source – Golden State Patriot OR CNS News.)

#4 It is my belief that there are no other countries in the world where a single payer system or government controlled system is doing a good job. In fact the Obama’s press secretary did not commit to which countries are doing it well when he was asked by reporters.

#5 There is very confusing language in the bill regarding end of life counseling, medical decisions, and medical record management. It is my belief that none of this should not be in the hands of the government. All of these items should be between family members and medical personnel.

Summary of Talking Points

Obama is inconsistent on SPS.
Insurance is a benefit not a right.
There are not 47 million people without healthcare.
SPS is NOT working in other countries.
Language of the bill is confusing and grants powers to the government that belong to patients, doctors, and families.

Getting Involved

Folks… this in just not that hard – just show up, don’t be scared, and speak your mind. Your country needs you now more than ever before.

About what I am doing…

I can continue to call and write my 3 elected officials regularly. I spoke directly with Gene Green two weeks ago. I told him my expectations to NO VOTE healthcare. He voted for it. By doing so, he voted – CLEARLY VOTED – against the wishes of his district.

I made a commitment to him that I would show up at his town hall meetings. I have held that commitment and will continue to do so. I feel certain that I am driving Gene crazy.

Here is the true issue… this is not about health care… it is about government control and building a bigger government so that MORE PEOPLE BECOME DEPENDENT ON THE GOVERNMENT!! – Yes, it is that simple.

And before the BUSH haters send me email…. I did not support the Homeland Security Acts that allowed the government to listen to your phone calls either.

1 Free and Prosperous America

My entire motivation for creating this blog is political involvement. My previous four posts focused on:

Identifying 5 people who need you to help them with political understanding and,
Defining the 4 R’s of restoring true conservative values.
Knowing the 3 elected officials that represent you in Washington D.C. and how to contact them.
Adopting 2 ideas or causes that you believe are important to this country.

This last idea of 5-4-3-2-1 Freedom is that through the political process we can all insure a free and prosperous America!

I am not about to litter this posting with cliché's about freedom… but keep this in mind – freedom is not free! This means that we all must do our part to insure it! It may mean calling your congressman, protesting actions, becoming engaged or donating money. Our men and women of the military will tell you that their fight from freedom might involve losing arms, legs, hands, eyes, or even life. FREEDOM IS NOT FREE!

I am truly concerned that this nation is in trouble and has lost its roots of freedom. It is my estimation that we have lost sight of what it means to be free. It almost compels to think that we don’t deserve freedom.

So… what does a free and prosperous America look like? I think the thoughts and ideas are captured very well in The Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution.

If you have never read either document, the time is now.

I will close this post by stating that if ever there were a time for the rise of patriots… it is now!

2 Causes or Ideas

My entire motivation for creating this blog is political involvement. My previous three posts focused on:

Identifying 5 people who need you to help them with political understanding and,
Defining the 4 R’s of restoring true conservative values.
Knowing the 3 elected officials that represent you in Washington D.C. and how to contact them.

Causes or Ideas

I am going to keep this post very simple.

If you are new to the political process or you do not know where to begin, start by finding or adopting 2 causes or ideas that you believe are important. Once you have done that, take these steps:

Learn as much about the causes as you can. If you study a specific idea or cause for 10 minutes a day or more, you will be an expert in the field.
Identify how the federal government is involved with your idea or cause and how they are impacting the cause!
Begin to craft a personal positions on the cause.
Practice articulating your positions with EVIDENCE – not EMOTION.
Begin to contact your 3 elected officials regularly regarding your causes.
Use sites like www.congress.org to learn how laws are written and moved through congress.

How to identify YOUR causes

This is simple. Anytime you hear an idea relating to the government that causes you to think “that’s just stupid” – or – when you hear of laws or action being considered that cause you to feel helpless – chances are – these are your causes.

Example – My Specific Cause

For me – I am extremely passionate about anything that raises my taxes. Most of you reading this blog have no idea what TAX FREEDOM DAY - AND – you have no idea how many little taxes you pay.

So I will tell you. Each of you pay a wide range of taxes. You pay sales tax, property tax, road tax, hotel tax, telephone tax, cable tv tax, sin tax, school tax, emergency service tax ETC… There are over 5000 incidental taxes.

Thus, when you are working, you are working to pay ALL of those taxes, many of which are hidden very well!!

Tax freedom day is the calendar day when your money is no longer being earned exclusively for paying your taxes. This year it was April 13th. This means that you worked – regardless of your age or income – until April 13th – just to pay all these taxes. When you add all of your taxes up, it will be the amount of money you earned between January 1st and April 13th.

Also – most of you do not realize that you and your children have a tax liability to the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ALONE of $37,000.00 each. This does not count your other taxes.

3 Elected Officials

Basics…

My entire motivation for creating this blog is political involvement. My previous two posts focused on:

Identifying 5 people who need you to help them with political understanding and,
Defining the 4 R’s of restoring true conservative values.

This post focuses on 3 people at the federal level who really should be paying attention to you. They are your two US Senators and your US Congressmen.

It seems to me, as of late, that many of our elected representatives have lost touch with reality. So before I write my anecdotal stories of dealing with each - lets talk about how to start making your voice heard. This is the basic list:

Know your US Congressman. Everyone in the USA lives in a congressional district. For instance I live in US Congressional District #8 and my US Representative is Kevin Brady. You can find all of your elected officials information at www.congress.org.
Know your US Senators. Every state in the USA elects two Senators. Since I live in Texas mine are Kay Bailey Hutchinson and John Cornyn. This information can also be found at www.congress.org.
Learn as much of their contact information as you can. I know that each of my 3 federal officials have offices in both Texas and Washington D.C. For instance, Kevin Brady’s home office in Conroe, Texas is 936-441-5700 and his D.C. office is 202-225-4901. I have a total of six phone numbers set to speed dial in my cell phone for all of my officials. (On a side note, I also have US Congressman of other neighboring districts set to speed dial as well.)
Call them and call them regularly. I typically call with two purposes in mind. First – to find out how the official intends to vote on a specific issues and second, to express my opinion an that issue.

I use this format to express my opinion:

Introduce myself
Provide my zip code
State you expected vote
Summarize your thoughts

My most recent call to Senator Hutchison’s offices sounded like this…

“Hello – I am Ron and I live in Texas. My zip code is XXXXX. I am calling to get a message to the Senator. I want her to know that I expect her to VOTE AGAINST the hate crimes bill that is now before the Senate. I am opposed to this as I am opposed to special protection of any group – thank you.”

When I call to inquire of how an official stands on an issue, I use this format:

Introduce myself
Provide my zip code
Ask for known plans for an issue
Ask for a call back if I don’t get an answer or I ask to speak with a Senior Staff member.

My most recent call to Representative Brady’s offices sounded like this…

“Hello – I am Ron and I live in Mr. Brady’s district. Do you know how he intends to vote on healthcare reform?”

I do this to see if I need to muster support of friends and family. I do this if he is undecided or opposed to my thoughts.

If I do not get an answer – I ALWAYS ASK FOR A CALL BACK.

All of this can be done with email as well!!

Basic Info Gathering…

Next lets talk about how to get information. Thanks to the internet, there are ample ways to stay plugged in to what is happening.

In the link section of this blog you will find several starting points. I like them all. There are many more available than what I have listed.

If you are new, start with these and explore the links provided at each site. It is amazing what is out there.

Again, www.congress.org provides the most recent bills that are being considered. Senate bills are identified with “S” and house bills with “HR”.

Youtube is a great resource for seeing people in their own words.

Advanced Involvement…

A few tricks I have learned to get my voice heard.

You may request a personal meeting with your elected officials. Don’t be afraid to make that request. When you do make the request, have them email you the meeting request form. Most staffers are trained to attempt to answer your questions so that you will not want to request a meeting. Don’t let them talk you out of the request.
When the form is sent to you via email, capture the email address. You now have an active staffer’s email. This has been most helpful for me. (Do schedule a meeting and have it. Be prepared!)
If you are in DC, walk in to the offices. Become your own lobbyist. Walk in, introduce yourself, and asked to see your representative. You may be surprised how easy it really is…
When you call your official’s offices and a staff member does not know the answer to your question… demand a call back. This puts you on the radar as being serious.

Truth and Fiction

Defining conservatism has been somewhat of challenge for many people. Let me start by saying that many people make the assumption that if a person is a “republican” then that person is a conservative. This is not true. Not all conservatives are republicans and not all republicans are conservative.

For instance, it is my opinion that Hilary Clinton is more conservative than John McCain. (Talk amongst yourselves.)

Four Simple Principles

There are four basic principles that drive a conservative thought and action process. They are uniquely simple:

The US Federal Government is to be limited in size, power, and authority. (SMALL GOVERNMENT)
Each citizen is responsible and accountable for his/her decisions, judgments and actions under a rule of law that is applied equally to all. (INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBLITY / LIBERTY)
Taxes and spending are to be strictly limited to essential governmental functions as defined in the constitution. Further, taxes are to be equally assessed and spending is not to favor any division or sect of society more than another. (LIMITED TAXES & SPENDING)
The US Constitution is the supreme governmental authority and is to be followed. It is to only be amended by the prescription of the document itself - not by the courts, the judicial branch or the executive branch. (CONSTITUTIONAL BASED GOVERNMENT)

The 4 R’s – Honing In…

The 4 R’s – in my humble opinion – are what is desperately needed to get the USA back on track. From this point forward I am supporting and voting for ONLY for candidates that understand them, can articulate them and have a track record of voting ONLY for laws that head us this direction. I call these the 4 R’s of radical restoration:

Reduce the size of the federal government.
Restore individual liberty and responsibility.
Reign in taxes and spending.
Re-Read the US Constitution.

We all know people who are absolutely, positively not educated in the political arena. Most of these people are apathetic or worse yet, know just enough about a subject to be dangerous.

Here is what I have experienced with most people when it comes to a historical and individual understanding of government:

They typically rely on a snapshot of the three major media outlets for their entire political understanding.
They typically have no idea what the United States Constitution really says or means.
They typically have no idea how the founding fathers created this free nation much less why!
They typically make decisions based entirely on emotions and the thought of “doing good for the whole.”
Often, they carry some type of injustice / resentment toward an establishment or toward people who are more successful than themselves.

When you consider the five ideas above, consider these videos:

Chris Matthews on ANAYLIS – only a CHILL – ZERO FACTS – ONLY FEELINGS!!!

Obama to pay Peggy’s mortgage because she is going to help him.

Obama to get Julio more just because he has worked at McDonalds a few year and THINKS he needs more.

None of this is constitutionally based thought or mindset, it is all EMOTIONS!

Be aware --- there are really people that think like this!

Again – our founders would be vomiting blood if they heard this!!

So… to start an effective change process at the grassroots level, you must meet these people where they are… lost.

My challenge to each of you is very simple – identify 5 – only 5 people that need a more in-depth understanding history and the government. Target people who:

Are likely to vote.
Are likely to read.
Are willing to accept a challenge to their belief structures.
Are willing to become educated on a topic.

I have identified my 5, and I encourage you to identify yours.

Speech at the Capitol

July the 4th was a great day! I had the honor and privilege to stand on the stage and deliver speeches with Texas Governor Rick Perry, US Senator John Cornyn, and US House Rep Louie Gohmert. The conversations shared were unique and insightful!!

Below are excerpts from the speech I delivered.

“Good afternoon Austin Texas - I am both privileged an honored to stand in front of such a great crowd in the most blessed nation in the greatest state in the union! I am proud to be a Texan and an American!

It is hot… I am hot… you are hot… but nonetheless we have work to do! We can’t let our discomfort get in the way of what we must do to insure a FREE AND PROSPEROUS NATION!

In November of last year a man took the office of president…

That man promised us change…

That man promised us new thinking…

That man promised us a better nation…

That man asked us to give him due consideration…

- BUT -

His actions are without contemplation…

His decisions are without deliberation…

His progress is built on false realizations…

- SO -

What we have to show for it is an OBAMNATION!

I am here today with one goal in mind and that is to share with you my vision of transformation. Transformation from an OBAMANATION back to a free and prosperous nation!

I want to ask you…a free and prosperous nation… Is that change you can believe in?

I want YOU to make a difference!

Here is my countdown to freedom – the five simple things we can all do to begin transformation.

Start with sharing and adopting the vision of a free and prosperous nation.

Next, realize people are lost, they are confused and they are historically uneducated. Your neighbors, your friends, your relatives… they typically are politically and constitutionally clueless.

Understand that they need you to guide them. I want you to adopt 5 people to take with you on your journey to restoring a free and prosperous nation!

Next, I want you to learn and know the FOUR R’s of conservative restoration.

Reduce the size of government…
Reign in spending and taxes…
Restore individual responsibility…
READ the constitution…

If you think these principles are important… then you must – I SAY YOU MUST - elect people who:

Understand them…
Live them…
Vote for laws that support them…

Next, learn the phone numbers – faxes – and emails of your three elected federal officials. Call them – email them – write them – fax them – go to their offices!

Next pick two ideals that you are passionate about. I don’t care if it is big government, the right to life, term limits, illegal immigration, foreign policy, etc…

PICK TWO and BECOME AN EXPERT ON THOSE TWO.

Change you can believe in?

In my last writing I discussed the need for change. Let me be clear… I am talking about radical restoration of the United States.

The US has been deteriorating for a number of years. What I mean by that is we are moving farther away from the truths that established this nation. This is not the same United States in which I grew up!

Now that the man who promised change we can believe is in office… AND we do not have the change he promised. In fact… you may recall a few things he promised.

1) He promised transparency. To see how well he is doing on that take a look at this press conference. This press secretary is SMUG… I mean SMUG! Listen to Helen Thomas – the longest reporting journalist in the White House Press Room AND a huge Obama supporter.

2) He promised reduction in taxes to 95% of us. Considering the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has said that the recently passed Cap and Trade bill will be the largest energy tax ever and will cause our energy bills to seriously increase I think he has lied. And that is fact I can believe in. But… don’t take my word for it, see what Obama has said himself.

3) He promised a new way of government. Our speak of the house, Nancy Pelosi, is STILL ACCUSSING the CIA of lying to congress. (Something yet to be proven.) Again, don’t take my word for it. Listen to Nancy herself.

So… I want to ask you… is this change YOU can believe in?

Not me, time for change to a radically restored United States!

Three Baseline Political Truths

Political changes starts with an individual!
More that 60% of Americans today are apathetic until an issue smacks them dead square in the face!
Change starts with YOU!

A few weeks ago I did a segment on a radio show in Austin. The segment focused on what a grassroot effort "looks like" in a political movement.

The purpos of these writing is to define what a grassroots effort "looks like" and what is this country needs in order to insure that we have a free and prosperous America!

If you think America is in great shape and we are headed the right direction, then you need to read no farther. If you think that America is headed down the wrong path and in need of political correction... then you to check back frequently. In fact... you need to get involved.

Over the next few weeks I intend to post a variety of ideas and topics as to what I think is needed to change the direction of this nation.

My goal is to effect change that insures freedom and prosperity.

As you read, you may disagree with me... but I would encourage you to expend your energy and time fighting for change and not arguing with me.

If you are confused about what to do and how to do it... then I am here to help!

The first and most basic principle is very simple...

Change begins with the individual!

I watch so many people stand idly by and wait for someone else to lead the change. Their thoughts seem to be... "don't worry, they will do it"... or ...."it is already handled"... or... "the government will never let anything like that happen."

Most people are 100% apathetic until an issue hits them smack in the face.

If you identify with that... and you are frustrated, then do something!

America is on fast track to socialism. Our government - yes our GOVERNMENT - now owns a stake in General Motors, AIG, Bank of America and countless other entities.

Our founding fathers would be vomiting blood if they were alive to see and hear what our government is doing!

Our elected officials seem to have forgotten that they are elected and - oh yes - there is a constitution!

So... what do we do to change it?

Change - real change - starts with you! That sounds good but will be meaningless until you embrace these words and say it like this...

"CHANGE STARTS WITH ME!"

Once you have the principle internalized that CHANGE STARTS WITH ME - you are then on your way to creating an impact in the political arena.

Remember - change starts with me - and don't forget it!
