Changes starts with me...

Three Baseline Political Truths
  1. Political changes starts with an individual!
  2. More that 60% of Americans today are apathetic until an issue smacks them dead square in the face!
  3. Change starts with YOU!

A few weeks ago I did a segment on a radio show in Austin. The segment focused on what a grassroot effort "looks like" in a political movement.

The purpos of these writing is to define what a grassroots effort "looks like" and what is this country needs in order to insure that we have a free and prosperous America!

If you think America is in great shape and we are headed the right direction, then you need to read no farther. If you think that America is headed down the wrong path and in need of political correction... then you to check back frequently. In fact... you need to get involved.

Over the next few weeks I intend to post a variety of ideas and topics as to what I think is needed to change the direction of this nation.

My goal is to effect change that insures freedom and prosperity.

As you read, you may disagree with me... but I would encourage you to expend your energy and time fighting for change and not arguing with me.

If you are confused about what to do and how to do it... then I am here to help!

The first and most basic principle is very simple...
Change begins with the individual!

I watch so many people stand idly by and wait for someone else to lead the change. Their thoughts seem to be... "don't worry, they will do it"... or ...."it is already handled"... or... "the government will never let anything like that happen."

Most people are 100% apathetic until an issue hits them smack in the face.

If you identify with that... and you are frustrated, then do something!

America is on fast track to socialism. Our government - yes our GOVERNMENT - now owns a stake in General Motors, AIG, Bank of America and countless other entities.

Our founding fathers would be vomiting blood if they were alive to see and hear what our government is doing!

Our elected officials seem to have forgotten that they are elected and - oh yes - there is a constitution!

So... what do we do to change it?

Change - real change - starts with you! That sounds good but will be meaningless until you embrace these words and say it like this...

"CHANGE STARTS WITH ME!"

Once you have the principle internalized that CHANGE STARTS WITH ME - you are then on your way to creating an impact in the political arena.

Remember - change starts with me - and don't forget it!

Until we meet again - God bless you and God bless the USA!

  1. The first grassroots happened on Nov. 5, 2008. Since then, we've had some wonderful changes in direction that are continuing today. With the recently acquired 60% majority in the U.S. Senate, we can look for a real turn-around from the criminality of the past 8 years. The clean-up has started in earnest now. The next change we should make in Texas is to get that wooden, ineffective marionette, John Cornyn ousted. In Bastrop, we have to get rid of Klienschmidt. Then we can take on the illiteracy that's infested our state school board. Change is an audacious undertaking. Fortunately we now have a competent executive and legislative branch. The judicial will improve drastically in a few weeks, too. I'm really enthused about the direction and re-focus that's happening now. thanks for inviting me to this forum. God Bless America!

  2. Censorship?
You surely wouldn't do that, would you?
    We'll see.

  3. Fred - I must respectfully disagree!

We are headed down a path with taxes and spending that is killing this country.

Since I began / opened my own business... and had to create a payroll... and take care of the people that work for me... and provide benefits... the liberal ideals in my mind vanished.

We are not headed in the right direction. Unemployment is 9+% and the jobless rate is climbing. Our national debt is soaring, the Koreans are launching missles, the dollar is spiraling out of control etc...

Our utility bills are about to skyrocket... in Obama's own word... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlTxGHn4sH4.

  4. It's difficult to comprehend how anyone with normal intellectual abilities could, with a straight face, still promote the ideas of Rove, Cheney, Rumsfeldt, and "W". Each day, the new President and his staff are working hard to get the federal government back into the proprietorship of the American people. The differences in the Bush administration, with all the covert, fearful actions, and the Obama adminstration, with the optimistic, open way of leading, is dynamic. Instilling hope and promise for the future is basic to my Christian belief. If for no other reason, Barack Obama actually reports for work on a daily basis! "W" was on vacation 80% of his time in office. That would have been a good thing; except he left Rove and company in charge. That's how we ended up in such a mess today. Housecleaning is ongoing, though. I'd really be pleased to see Cheney and "W" picking up trash on highway 71, all dressed up in orange.

  5. Fred - I think you are confused. I am not about supporting what you describe in your last comment. No doubt the Bush administration had significant issues. In fact - I was made as hell when he began the bailout process called TARP! My moto was "let them fail."

The problems I see if that in the efforts to correct issues, we are moving more away from the constitution and allowing a victim mentality from virtually everyone.

This must stop. The spending must stop. The taxes must stop. The lack of respect for the constituition must stop.

There is plenty of blame to go around - Bush - Clinton - Obama - Cheney etc...

Stop blaming - start fixing in alignment with the people and the constituion.

  6. Fred, at what point will you recognize that Bush is no longer our President? His administration and Party have met with the harshest political punishment possible; how would throwing them all in jail, as you suggest, change our economy, foreign policy, or liberty? Please explain.

I respect your personal beliefs with regards to the way President #43 ran things, but at some point it would be nice to see an objective review (from people like you) of our CURRENT President's actions and their effect.

Your common viewpoint sounds like bus passengers complaining about their previous driver's occasional slow driving and missed stops while their CURRENT driver is deliberately swerving into oncoming traffic! I think Ron is trying to be the one passenger who is watching the road and trying to get others to see what he sees.

Besides, when Helen Thomas starts voicing concerns about "control" coming from a Democrat White House, shouldn't we all take notice
